I'm sorry I have let this blog get behind - I won't go into detail about the events that have caused this deficit - but suffice it to say, I'm back to blogging!
I hope everyone is having a fun, safe summer. Don't forget parents, children still need their rest even in the summer. The more routine their sleep patterns are the more stable their moods will be. Consider this . . . when a child/teen sleep is interrupted drastically on the weekends, it takes 3-4 days to get back to "normal". By then it's almost the weekend again and you've got a dangerous pattern developing. Think about how a summer of poor sleep habits will impact the back to school routine in just 6 short weeks?

Parents . . . help your children develop self-esteem by encouraging them to try new things. Confidence is develped by doing, not talking.

Perfectionists can become discouraged when they feel they aren't doing things well. Realistic expectations lead to greater satisfaction!
